George W. Bush and other officials of his administration are guilty of  high crimes as a result of 9/11 and the casualties in America, Afghanistan and Iraq, none of which should have happened. Here are some of the questions and charges  Bush needs to clear up:

George W. Bush did not want to attack Osama bin Laden, before 9/11 or after 9/11. In fact, Bush did not want to hear any discussion about bin Laden from his first day in office until one week before the twin towers burned to the ground.

Richard Clarke, the chief adviser on terrorism for Bush, said that the president refused to have high level meetings on the clear and present danger from al-Qaeda. He never went to battle stations on the threats.

Clarke: “He never thought it was important enough to hold a meeting on the subject, or for him to order his National Security Adviser to hold a Cabinet-level meeting on the subject.”  Next, click on ‘Clarke’s Take on Terror’ at the end of the video.

Clarke told Lesley Stahl of CBS  “that White House officials were tepid in their response when he urged them three months before Sept.11 to meet to discuss what he saw as a severe threat from al Qaeda.”

Clarke: “I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds  that he’s done such  great things about terrorism. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We’ll never know.”

George Bush wanted no briefings or cabinet level meetings on the biggest threat to our nation. Even though Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, the mastermind of the plan to hijack and crash 12 American airliners in the Pacific and “the CIA later learns that Yousef stayed in a bin Laden-owned house in Pakistan both before and after the attacks (including the first attack on the New York Trade Center, Feb. 26, 1993)

The evidence was published in the 1996 trial of the terrorists that were captured in Manila. The plan was called Project Bojinka and was part of the intelligence available to Bush. But the president still refused to check out the planning by al-Qaeda and its recent successful  history against the United States.

Then ask yourself why Bush refused to hear any evidence that al-Qaeda was the biggest threat to America over the first 8 months of his presidency and the source of serious threats to America over the last three months before 9/11. The answer is that Bush wouldn’t know about the threat if he told his intelligence people that he wanted no intelligence briefing at the cabinet level on bin Laden or al-Qaeda. The term I’m thinking of is called “plausible deniability”. Think about it again. Carefully.

What was  Bush thinking about in the months before the attack on the Twin Towers?

His only concern was finding a way to invade Iraq. Now Iraq had done nothing to warrant an invasion by the United States but the president was not concerned about the real threat from al-Qaeda. Bush knows there is no threat or reason to invade Iraq so his only recourse is to make up one.

In fact, before being elected, Bush revealed his future plans to his first biographer, Mickey Herskowitz, in 1999:

“One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief…My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it…If I have a chance to invade…if I had that much capital, I’m not going to waste it. I’m going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I’m going to have a successful presidency.”

Becoming president of the United States to George W. Bush meant a chance to orchestrate and build his resume for history. Whatever it takes. That includes a war, inventing one if necessary. Former Secretary of the Treasury for Bush was Paul O’Neill, who said Bush only wanted to find a way to invade Iraq:

After Bush was elected, O’Neill said the first thing he did at his first  National Security Council meeting was discuss invading Iraq:

“From the beginning, there was a conviction, that Saddam Hussein was a bad person and that he needed to go…and…going after Saddam was topic ‘A’ 10 days after the inauguration-eight months before Sept. 11.”

Ron Suskind, writer for the O’Neill book, said, “From the very first instance, it was about Iraq. It was about what we could do to change this regime…Day one, these things were laid and sealed.”

O’Neill said that no one ever questioned “Why Saddam?” and “Why now?” were never asked. The talk of invading Iraq continued on to the next National Security Council meeting two days later.

There were memos, one marked secret. It was a plan, the ‘Plan for post-Saddam Iraq.’ Suskind said that “the planning envisioned peacekeeping troops, war crimes tribunals, and even divvying up Iraq’s oil wealth.” Another, March 5, 2001, was called “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield contracts,” with exploration maps for possible drilling.

As al-Qaeda began to close the deal with their attack on America, Bush and his crew looked for a way to invade Iraq but without luck. Bush was surrounded by ‘neocons” in the white House who had influence with the way America was heading. This group included Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and Richard Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense. They  had a plan for the future of America called PNAC, Project for the New American Century.

The plan would make dramatic changes in America, bringing about a new America, with a new, modern military capable of fighting and winning multiple wars, and being the constabulary of a Pax Americana, the dominating force on earth, cyberspace and in space. Included is  the right of the United States to take preemptive  military actions against other nations. (an American Mein Kampf?))

“Bush released on September 20th  2002 the ‘National Security Strategy of the United States of America.’ It is an ideological match to PNAC’s ‘RebuildingAmerica’sDefense’ report issued a year earlier. In many places, it uses exactly the same language to describe America’s new place in the world.”  See page 51, upper left column of RAD report for “new Pearl Harbor” event.

The PNAC boys in the white House were concerned that bringing about a transformation to a world class military would take a long time to get acceptance from the American citizens. In a PNAC document, it explains:

“Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event-like a new Pearl Harbor.” Members of PNAC have also had a goal to invade and free Iraq for a long time.

The following excerpts are from thesigintreport.com, ‘Afghanistan, America’s Unintentional War’, 2009/12.

Richard Clarke had tried to warn the administration about al-Qaeda days after Bush had assumed office. He said “…on January 24th, 2001, I wrote a memo to Condoleezza Rice asking for, urgently-underlined urgently-a cabinet-level meeting to deal with the impending al-Qaeda attack. And that memo wasn’t acted on.”

Clark got a cabinet meeting on al-Qaeda in April of 2001, but with underlings in each department. His briefing of Paul Wolfowitz illustrates the administration’s only target.

Clarke: “I began saying, We have to deal with bin Laden; we have to deal with al-Qaeda.’ Paul Wolfowitz…said, “No, no, no. We don’t have to deal with al-Qaeda. Why are we talking about that little guy? We have to talk about Iraqi terrorism against the United States.’”

“And I said, Paul, there hasn’t been any Iraqi terrorism against the United States in eight years! And I turned to the deputy director of the CIA and said, Isn’t that right?

And he said Yeah, that’s right. There is no Iraqi terrorism against the United States.’”

Clark got his urgent cabinet meeting one week before 9/11. According to CBS he “proposed a plan to bomb al-Qaeda’s sanctuary in Afghanistan” and take out bin Laden. But the plan was not even out of the planning stage when the hijackers took to the air over America.

Bush returned to the White House from a visit to a school in Sarasota on the 11th to begin plans for a response. At the end of the day he wrote in his diary  “The Pearl Harbor of the 21st century took place today.”

Remember that a similar quote was put forth in a PNAC  publication that they would need a  “new Pearl Harbor” (attack) to change American minds and support the  transformation of the United States into the top military force on earth. Every member of this group was “wishing” for a new Pearl Harbor and they got it.

On September 11 and after, Bush “and his advisers, including Clarke, began holding meetings” on a response to the attacks. Clarke said the conversation “quickly turned to Iraq.”

Clarke: “Rumsfeld was saying that we needed to bomb Iraq.”

Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, one of the neocons of PNAC, was saying that we had to attack Iraq, even though al-Qaeda was in Afghanistan and had already been identified as the bombers. The head of our Defense Department was telling everyone that we weren’t going to attack the the bad guys. We would bomb a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. That would be  called a certifiably mentally disturbed person in some other parallel universe.

Clarke corrected Rumsfeld:

“Al Qaeda is in Afghanistan. We need to bomb Afghanistan. And Rumsfeld said there aren’t any good targets in Afghanistan. And I said, Well, there are lots of good targets in lots of places, but Iraq had nothing to do with it.”

Now George Bush puts pressure on Clarke:

“The president dragged me into a room with a couple of other people, shut the door, and said, “I want you to find whether Iraq did this. Now he never said, Make it up. But the entire conversation left me in absolutely no doubt that George Bush wanted me to come back with a report that said Iraq did this.

“I said, Mr. President. We’ve done this before. We have been looking at this. We looked at it with an open mind. There’s no connection.

“He came at me and said, ‘Iraq! Saddam! Find out if there’s a connection.’ And in a very intimidating way. I mean that we should come back with that answer. We wrote a report

“It was a very serious look. We got together all the FBI experts, all the CIA experts.We sent the report out to CIA and found FBI and said, Will you sign this report? They all cleared the report. And we sent the report up to the president and it got bounced by the National Security Advisor or Deputy. It got bounced and sent back saying, “Wrong answer…Do it again.”

Once again we have the president saying to lie in the report so we can invade Iraq because that’s what we want to do. The president and some of his cabinet members wanted his security advisers to lie and commit a monumental crime that would lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including our own soldiers, for no reason. Simply because they wanted to dominate (true) the world and Bush merely wanted to become a war commander-in-chief so the historians could write great things about him (also true).

Bush didn’t get the report he wanted and he attacked Afghanistan on October 7, 2001.

“By December of 2001, bin Laden and several hundred of his men were cornered in caves in the mountains of  Tora Bora. American commanders on the ground asked for reinforcements to block al-Qaeda’s escape to Pakistan.

‘The decision not to deploy American forces to go after bin Laden or block his escape was made by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and his top commander Tommy Franks…

His reason:

‘Rumsfeld said at the time that he was concerned that too many U.S. troops in Afghanistan would create an anti-American backlash and fuel a widespread insurgency.”

So he let them get away. Just like that, when he could have captured the whole crew, wrapped things up and gone home. Remember that Rumsfeld never wanted to go into Afghanistan (nor did Bush). But that aside, his statement doesn’t make sense. He didn’t want to make a bad impression on the Afghans so he moderated the battle plan.

That is an idiotic statement, period.  The senate committee investigating the debacle laid the blame clearly on Rumsfeld. But it worked to a point for Bush. Osama bin Laden was in a safe haven, still posing a threat to the U.S. and the west. The U.S. troops would stay in Afghanistan to prevent a return to that nation. And Bush and team could now concentrate on fabricating a reason for invading Iraq.

And only a few months later, on March 13, 2002, Bush announced at a press conference that he was no longer concerned about  bin Laden. (He was free now to concentrate on Iraq.) But he never was concerned about bin Laden.

And, logically, the Taliban decided to kick the Americans out, which turned into an American war to oust the Taliban from power. Now there is a conflict with no end in sight. Remember this.  Bush and Rumsfeld didn’t want to get involved with Afghanistan or al-Qaeda. Even though bin Laden and al-Qaeda were the guilty parties.

We, of course, know the lies and pressure that Bush and partners in the White House put forth on the rest of the world to get on board with the U.S. and kick Saddam from power and put an end to the weapons of mass destruction.

Except there were no usable weapons of mass destruction in the Iraqi arsenal and none in the pipeline. Nor were there any other reasons to invade Iraq. Bush and company knew this when they went to war against the Iraqis with American soldiers.

Here is something for everyone to ponder.

Why would Rumsfeld, the Defense Secretary, push for an invasion of Iraq when the evidence clearly showed that al-Qaeda was the guilty party? And Wolfowtiz and others in the White House staff (certainly Vice President Cheney) were on board with this. The PNAC plan for global dominance was initially put forward by Dick Cheney “[in the first Bush administration]. The Defense Planning Guide of 1992…very much like the National Security Strategy paper that the Bush administration has recently put out… (2002). This group planned it together and implemented it together.

The fact is that we went to war against Iraq based on lies and we went to war against bin Laden in protest. It means that George Bush and members of his cabinet were guilty of invading Iraq without cause, bringing about the deaths of many Iraqi citizens plus thousands of Americans killed and many more wounded American solders horribly burned.

Additionally, Bush deliberately refused to put bin-Laden and al-Qaeda at the top of the watch list, since this group had a track record of terrorist attacks against the U.S. and the west. And his staff, including the cabinet level, closed the door on stopping al-Qaeda. Even after the attack on America, Bush and company kept pushing the lie about Iraq but had to act against al-Qaeda after the CIA, FBI and his security adviser said that the enemy was in Afghanistan.

As a result, a simple operation on a terror group backed into a corner turned into a miracle, not from Allah, but from Bush and Rumsfeld to the terrorists. Now we are in a no-win war, about to leave? after more American soldiers have been killed and wounded, and many more have been damaged mentally because of years of fruitless combat.

No competent person can excuse the high crimes committed by George W. Bush and company against the citizens of America,  Iraq and Afghanistan. Their plans have been clearly exposed by their own words and deeds. The question is will these “Evil Doers” that once inhabited the White House finally receive the judgement they clearly deserve or will that duty be carried out by a higher power.

NOTE:

I kept looking at the photo of George W. Bush as he received a second notice from Andy Card while Bush was sitting in the classroom, listening to a story from the classroom. It was a message that caused Bush to freeze in place.

The message, “A second plane hit the tower. America is under attack.”

According to students looking back on that day, he changed. One student, Lazaro Dubrocq, said the president “looked anxious…He was looking at the cameras, the walls.”

Teacher Sandra Daniels, said “He left the room. Mentally he was gone.”

I think the second message turned his mood around because the first one could be an accident but still manageable if just one plane had hit. But now it was two airliners on both Trade Center towers. And they were under perhaps more attacks. The casualties will be much higher. He knew something would happen but not at this level. Now he’s trying to get his story straight.

There was a look of “terror” in his eyes. He needed to compose himself because he had dismissed the activities of al-Qaeda and bin Laden, saying there is no definite target. He is the one responsible for the attack on America. In these moments you can see in his eyes the torment, knowing he is the guilty one. And he’s thinking, will they implicate me.

Bush recovered. He had no knowledge that this attack was going to be so destructive. But now he could get on with Iraq. He just had his own Pearl Harbor. Now he was thinking the American people will support them in their mission. And they did.

Closing comments:

Iraq has returned to the war between the Sunni and Shia to see who will rule the nation, a struggle that will include more deaths and interference from Iran. And Iraqi Muslims are in the process of killing Iraqi Christians and evicting them from their homes in Iraq.

An American soldier can spend 20 or 30 years fighting in Afghanistan and retire there. If he doesn’t get killed or horribly disfigured of go insane. Or if our current president (Obama) decides to stop the madness and leave Afghanistan.

For our leaders the reality is that there is no rational behavior in Muhammad’s house of horrors. The answer is to face the truth of Islam in America. Or face it later. Leave Afghanistan and don’t get bogged down in any more 7th century religious wars.

Their leaders did not go to Harvard or Princeton. They don’t have your worldview. They will never surrender to unbelievers invading Islamic lands. Muslim believers will fight you by a thousand cuts and bleed you until you die. In Islam, this is winner take all. You can learn that now, later, or never.

There are two charges that can readily be made against George W. Bush and other members of his administration. They are:

• Dereliction of Duty
• Failure to enforce Article IV section 4 of the U.S. Constitution
